Reading tools and files

Quiz choices and editable page fields run in your browser. These tools do not send your answers or reading notes to BiblioFiend, create an account, or store a reading profile on our server. Keep a printout or downloaded copy when you want to retain a result. Entries may be lost when you close or reload a page.

The PDF, CSV and XLSX downloads contain no tracking pixel, macro or private data connection. A file you edit and share may contain your own notes. Check that copy before giving it to another person. Do not enter children’s names, school details or other unnecessary personal information into a shared file.

Website requests and choices

Serving a page or file involves ordinary network information, such as an IP address and requested URL, which the hosting service may process. This release has no site advertising or configured audience analytics. Any browser consent preference offered in the footer is separate from the reading tools' in-page choices.

On a page visit, our consent script requests /api/geo on this site. The hosting service uses request information to return a country and region code. The script uses those codes to choose the consent controls: an opt-in banner in the EEA and UK, or a California privacy link with support for the browser's Global Privacy Control signal. It does not request your device's precise location.

If you accept or decline the banner, the script saves granted or denied under site-consent in this site's localStorage. That preference stays in your browser across visits until you clear the site's stored data. It contains no reading answers. The script can load Google Analytics only when an analytics ID is configured and the applicable consent checks allow it; this build has no such ID.

Our click script also reads utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign and utm_content from a landing URL. When present, it keeps those campaign labels, limited to 100 characters each, under click-utm in this site's sessionStorage. They remain available as you move between pages in that tab's session and are cleared when the tab session ends. This storage happens even when there are no offer links. You can clear the site's browser data to remove it.

This build has no sponsored offer links, so the click script sends no offer-click request. If a page carries a sponsored link, that script sends the offer label, the page path and any stored campaign labels to this site's /api/click when you click it. Reading-tool answers and journal entries are not part of that payload.

Email messages

If you email hello@bibliofiend.com, your email provider sends us the address and message you choose to send. We use that information to handle the message or correction. We do not use the contact address as an email-marketing signup. Avoid sending private journals or details that are not needed to explain an issue.

External sources

A publisher, author or software link opens another service with its own practices. Our downloads do not require one of those accounts. Check the external service's privacy and sharing rules before moving a personal reading history there.
