Set of ten 4 x 9

That day I oft remember, when from sleep
I first awak't, and found my self repos'd [ 450 ]
Under a shade of flours, much wondring
where
And what I was, whence thither brought, and
how.
Not distant far from thence a murmuring
sound
Of waters issu'd from a Cave and spread
Into a liquid Plain, then stood unmov'd [ 455 ]
Pure as th' expanse of Heav'n; I thither went
With unexperienc't thought, and laid me
downe
On the green bank, to look into the cleer
Smooth Lake, that to me seemd another Skie.
As I bent down to look, just opposite, [ 460 ]
A Shape within the watry gleam appeard
Bending to look on me, I started back,
It started back, but pleas'd I soon returnd,
Pleas'd it returnd as soon with answering looks
Of sympathie and love; there I had fixt [ 465 ]
Mine eyes till now, and pin'd with vain desire...

Ten postcards

Image used on Oxford University's website for Milton's 400th birthday!

The Visionary Foal is an aspect of the omniscient God. At the end of the scroll we see who the mystery rider is: it is none other than Satan himself who has been performing God's work. He has been redeemed because God has used him to seduce Adam and Eve so God could actualize his Divine Grace and Mercy by having His alter ego, His Son, sacrifice Himself and take the sins of Adam & Eve back upon himself. God's mercy is not perfect if it is not actualized, and Satan has helped actualize (perfect) it by rebellion and seduction thus initiating God's perfect mercy. But God's Mercy being infinite, God has also redeemed Satan who leans back upon the Heavenly Foal in the next to last panel. Satan is back to Satan's former self, no longer ruined. A rainbow, the promise of God, over Cavalry Hill confirms the redemption or promise of His Perfect Mercy.

It is a fate that sweeps like a storm in the night. It is the Jungian collective unconscious of our species that has simmered as a dormant volcano of the multitudes and explodes periodically with a force that can astound and shake humanity. We awaken from our humdrum every day existence to a world of horror and find another more intense reality behind the superficial mask of everyday life…in our nightmares or captured by our artists for the public to share! Halloween is perhaps one of the oldest holidays on record, dating back more than 2,000 years to the days of the Celts and their high priests, the Druids. While associated with Ireland, the Celtic people lived across a wide region that included Great Britain and northern France, and marked their new year on November 1st. This was the end of summer and a time of harvest, as the Celts began… Read More

Description:
"Bushwick has become one of the largest artists' communities in Brooklyn, New York City and possibly the world. The exhibit “WAH Bridges Bushwickâ€, with over 60 artists, is a survey of this phenomenon. Exploring the works of artists in this show, one can identify new trends that the Bushwick artists community is contributing to the art world. The show is a reminder that if one scratches the surface, one can see that there is a colorful story in each artist, something that shows a skein of connectedness among all humans. This show fulfills the WAH Center's "Bridge Concept", bridging to Bushwick and its artists, just as previous shows the WAH Center have bridged many different international, national and local artist communities.†- Brittany Natale

THIS EXHIBIT honors those who have traveleda golden path in the arts with creativeinsights, energy, strong commitment andendurance, and who can be looked upon as amodel of the highest ideals. These people, mymentors, have honored me with their friendshipand their spiritual and artistic guidance, and have been essential in the development ofmy ideals and career, especially in the establishmentof the Williamsburg Art & HistoricalCenter. To see others who have gone beforeand gone through great struggles, and whohave overcome obstacles and hardships, helpsand inspires the younger generation to pursuetheir own ideal goals.
The first five years have presented many challengeson the road to creating a new major art institution, accommodating artistic demands within our limited resources. Even during those difficult times, the wisdom I learned from my mentors never escaped me. Theaccumulated wisdom was a sustaining force behind me.As Jack Lenor Larsen demonstrated, in order to realize one's vision, one must do… Read More

Description:
Terrance Lindall recites his synopsized version of Paradise Lost

Other aspects of Lindall's yearly presentation of his adaptation of Paradise Lost is his interest in one of the most famous phrases in Milton's epic when Satan declares "...the mind is it's own place and in itself can make a Heaven of Hell, a Hell of Heaven." It has long been the contention of Lindall, as well as many philosophers throughout history, that there is no distinction between mind and matter, or phenomenal and noumenal reality. The proof was most clearly stated by George Berkeley in the dictum "esse est percipi"... "To be is to be perceived." In other words, everything is perception. In modern physics, the old notion of a Newtonian billiard ball cosmos has given way to notions of subatomic particles like "quarks" and "charmed particles," thence to the notion that at some point there are only "events." That idea delights Lindall who says that physics will ultimately prove his own judgment about the nature of reality. Whether… Read More

In 1987 the US Congress passed a resolution to designate the month of March as "Women's History Month," and the US President issues an annual proclamation during that month to acknowledge and honor some outstanding women in America who have achieved in their chosen careers and contributed so much to the society.
So, the WAH Center is going to have a special exhibition starting in March, 2009 entitled, "Women Forward," to celebrate the "Women History Month," to honor those women artists who have achieved their worthy recognitions in their chosen artist career and have contributed so much to the art world, also some other women artists who are on the way to be recognized in the art world. As the curator of the show, I have gathered 31 outstanding women artists whose works will be included in the show. To conclude the three consecutive pandemic shows, we mounted the special exhibit, "The Works Ac- quired in the Yuko Nii Foundation's Permanent Collection From The Three Consecutive Exhibitions Related to The COVID 19 Pandemic." This is the 4th show of the series with 200 selected artworks by 104 artists in the permanent collection, presenting a historically significant record of the artists' felt life during the pandemic period.
In spite of the extremely difficult Lockdown period, artists' creative energy never stopped. They continued their art making no matter what was happening around them.
Although many art institutions and galleries closed their doors during this pandemic period, or some started having on-line shows, we felt artists needed support and an outlet for exhibiting their work. We also felt it was necessary and impor- tant for us to present the physical artworks in the gallery so that artists's direct raw message would reach to the viewers.
We did this by having three consecutive… Read More

We have experienced recently a darkest period in our life, first with the deadly coronavirus pandemic followed by another horrifying social pandemic both of which have spread all over the USA and worldwide like a Tsunami, and nothing seemed to help lift our spirits in hope for humanity. Yuko Nii
Ever since mid- March, we, the citizens, have been ordered by Government Officials to "Stay-Home", and when going out, "Wear a Mask", plus "Stay 6' Apart from Others," and when returning home "Wash Hands with Soap", etc. This has been an extraordinary period that we have all had to go through in the past (nearly 9 months) and even today we must follow with the official guidelines carefully and cautiously in order to be safe. Many artists were delighted to have the unexpected long"Stay- in" period so that they could concentrate on their works… Read More

We have experienced one of the worst "life threatening" periods in our recent human history requiring a lockdown. As an art center, we wanted to give a new opportunity to our artists after they have been staying home and not being able to exhibit during the lockdown period, so we offered a special show called, "Lockdown" to which we invited the Juror Paulina Pobocha, Curator at the MoMA, who presented several honorary awards to the outstanding artists. The exhibition of 171 works by 91participants was a rich presentation in a variety of subjects, mediums, styles and color, etc. The original show dates were from November 7 till December 31, 2020, but since the exhibit attracted a wider audience we extended the show, ending it in March, 2021.

Where there is no human connection, there is no compassion. Without compassion, then community, commitment, loving-kindness, human understanding, and peace all shrivel. Individuals become isolated, the isolated turn cruel, and the tragic hovers in the forms of domestic and civil violence. Art and literature are antidotes to that." Susan Vreeland To all who have helped make the last 20 years a great success:
In celebration of the WAH Center's 20th Anniversary I amvery honored and humbled to present my artworks andwritings to the public for the first time. I not only presented my work once, but twice within a year. The first time was my "Retrospective Part 1, Dune Paintings" show that was held from November 5th to December 31st, 2016. That year was the beginning of the 20th birth year of our wonderful WAH Center.
