It is a unique folded broadsheet (folded to 5.5 X 8.5 inches) that contains the entire synopsized edition of Terrance Lindall's rendition of John Milton's Paradise Lost. The beauty of this edition is that it is complete with exciting images and is very inexpensive, such that schools can afford to hand it out free at the beginning of the course to all the students in the class, inspiring their study of Milton's work! The Visionary Foal is an aspect of the omniscient God. At the end of the scroll we see who the mystery rider is: it is none other than Satan himself who has been performing God's work. He has been redeemed because God has used him to seduce Adam and Eve so God could actualize his Divine Grace and Mercy by having His alter ego, His Son, sacrifice Himself and take the sins of Adam & Eve back upon himself. God's mercy is not perfect if it is not actualized, and Satan has helped actualize (perfect) it by rebellion and seduction thus initiating God's perfect mercy. But God's Mercy being infinite, God has also redeemed Satan who leans back upon the Heavenly Foal in the next to last panel. Satan is back to Satan's former self, no longer ruined. A rainbow, the promise of God, over Cavalry Hill confirms the redemption or promise of His Perfect Mercy.

About the Author:
F. Scott Fitgerald was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1896. He attended Princeton University, joined the United States Army during World War I, and published his first novel, This Side of Paradise, in 1920. That same year he married Zelda Sayre and the couple divided their time among New York, Paris, and the Riviera. Fitzgerald's masterpieces include The Beautiful and Damned, The Great Gatsby, and Tender Is the Night. He died at the age of forty-four, while working on The Love of the Last Tycoon. Fitzgerald stands out as one of the most important American writers of the twentieth century.

Other aspects of Lindall's yearly presentation of his adaptation of Paradise Lost is his interest in one of the most famous phrases in Milton's epic when Satan declares "...the mind is it's own place and in itself can make a Heaven of Hell, a Hell of Heaven." It has long been the contention of Lindall, as well as many philosophers throughout history, that there is no distinction between mind and matter, or phenomenal and noumenal reality. The proof was most clearly stated by George Berkeley in the dictum "esse est percipi"... "To be is to be perceived." In other words, everything is perception. In modern physics, the old notion of a Newtonian billiard ball cosmos has given way to notions of subatomic particles like "quarks" and "charmed particles," thence to the notion that at some point there are only "events." In 1987 the US Congress passed a resolution to designate the month of March as "Women's History Month," and the US President issues an annual proclamation during that month to acknowledge and honor some outstanding women in America who have achieved in their chosen careers and contributed so much to the society.
So, the WAH Center is going to have a special exhibition starting in March, 2009 entitled, "Women Forward," to celebrate the "Women History Month," to honor those women artists who have achieved their worthy recognitions in their chosen artist career and have contributed so much to the art world, also some other women artists who are on the way to be recognized in the art world. March is "National Women's History Month," which highlights the contribution of women to both contemporary society and historical events. There are quite a few celebratory events to honor women all over the city and the nation every March, including in the art world. These events are encouraging and powerful.

The WAH Center (Williamsburg Art & HistoricalCenter) is pleased to conclude the 2019 fiscal yearwith the final section of our Permanent Collection,Part 3, Section C: Acquired between 2010 to 2012.This show is the selected works from Japan Benefit Shows, 2011, which contains over 160 pieces acquired from a two-day art benefit held at the WAH Center in June, 2011, as well as other several benefit shows that were held in Manhattan in April 2011.
On March 11, 2011 a catastrophic 9.0 magnitude earthquake hit the Tohoku Region on the northeast coast of Japan, which was followed by a catastrophic Tsunami. The Tsunami waves' height was nearly 48 feet (15 meters) in many areas, and the Tsunami traveled at 26.25' (8 meters) per second in many areas, the speed of an Olympic Athlete.
According to the report as of April 22, 2011, 326,000 buildings and 3,700 roads were damaged or destroyed. The death toll was 14,000, with more than 12,000 people missing, and 131,000 victims living in evacuation centers without… Read More

To conclude the three consecutive pandemic shows, we mounted the special exhibit, "The Works Ac- quired in the Yuko Nii Foundation's Permanent Collection From The Three Consecutive Exhibitions Related to The COVID 19 Pandemic." This is the 4th show of the series with 200 selected artworks by 104 artists in the permanent collection, presenting a historically significant record of the artists' felt life during the pandemic period.
In spite of the extremely difficult Lockdown period, artists' creative energy never stopped. They continued their art making no matter what was happening around them.
Although many art institutions and galleries closed their doors during this pandemic period, or some started having on-line shows, we felt artists needed support and an outlet for exhibiting their work. We also felt it was necessary and impor- tant for us to present the physical artworks in the gallery so that artists's direct raw message would reach to the viewers.

Ever since mid- March, we, the citizens, have been ordered by Government Officials to "Stay-Home", and when going out, "Wear a Mask", plus "Stay 6' Apart from Others," and when returning home "Wash Hands with Soap", etc. This has been an extraordinary period that we have all had to go through in the past (nearly 9 months) and even today we must follow with the official guidelines carefully and cautiously in order to be safe.Many artists were delighted to have the unexpected long"Stay- in" period so that they could concentrate on their works… Read More

We have experienced one of the worst "life threatening" periods in our recent human history requiring a lockdown. As an art center, we wanted to give a new opportunity to our artists after they have been staying home and not being able to exhibit during the lockdown period, so we offered a special show called, "Lockdown" to which we invited the Juror Paulina Pobocha, Curator at the MoMA, who presented several honorary awards to the outstanding artists. The exhibition of 171 works by 91participants was a rich presentation in a variety of subjects, mediums, styles and color, etc. The original show dates were from November 7 till December 31, 2020, but since the exhibit attracted a wider audience we extended the show, ending it in March, 2021.
