‘Delirium’ actors sit down for first script read-through [UPDATED]

Exciting news for Delirium fans!

Today marked the first script read-through for Fox’s television adaptation of the massively popular series by Lauren Oliver. Based on tweets from actors Daren Kagasoff, Jeanine Mason, and Gregg Sulkin, the read-through went extremely well.

When we saw Lauren the day Requiem hit shelves, she mentioned how thrilled she was with Fox’s approach to the series and the cast chosen to bring her characters to life. It would seem the actors are just as excited to work with one another and delve into Oliver’s dystopian world.

UPDATE: Thanks to Lauren Oliver, we also have a photo of the cast from today!

According to Deliriumnet.com, production is likely to begin sometime this week.

How excited are you to see Delirium? Already counting down the days till next Fall? What do you hope to see in the series?

Hello fellow readers! I'm Tina, co-founder of and Staff Reporter for BiblioFiend. I still remember my first book. It was about a dog named Spot, written and illustrated by my mother on folded 8.5" x 11" sheets of copy paper. The first novel I read was The Gunslinger, by Stephen King. The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger (and I) followed. Then came other authors, other worlds and characters that drew me and kept me at the edge of my seat. This fascination with different worlds and the characters who inhabit them probably influenced my decision to study archaeology and anthropology in college. I was born and raised in New York and currently live in Washington, DC - my second home for the last ten years. I love history and science and art and culture which, in turn, fuels my love for science-fiction and fantasy. Ayn Rand's Anthem, assigned for 10th grade summer reading, will always stand out as my formal introduction to dystopian literature. Favorite series: MaddAddam trilogy by Margaret Atwood, The Dark is Rising Sequence by Susan Cooper, The Dark Tower series by Stephen King, The Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss, The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson Favorite Books: 1984 by George Orwell, The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman, The Bone Clocks by David Mitchell. I firmly believe that reading not only can transport us to other worlds, but can help us to better understand our own and ourselves.

I think they are showing early sings of amor deliria nervosa. Possibly advanced stages. Their procedures should be hastened.

  • I just got Delirium for Christmas (I know Christmas was months away but I’m behind on everything I need to read lol). It’s getting difficult to keep track of all the books that are coming out as movies or television shows! But considering I’ve been wanting to read it for a while, this is exciting news. I’m sort of surprised to see that Fox has taken on a book series. Hopefully they’ll do a good job on their adaptation.
